Update October 25, 2015

Reminders - Picture re-takes on Monday, October 26 (only if you are registered)
HALLOWEEN PARTY We will be having a Halloween "Pumpkin Party" on Friday, October 30.  The children will be able to dress up for the afternoon on that day.  Please do not send your child in a scary, bloody, gory, weapons, etc... costume.  This is a Christian school and we have many young children in the building.  They do not have to dress up if they do not wish to. Please send the costume in a plastic bag that morning and they can change after lunch recess.
SNACK PARENTS - Yan, Andy, Brianna

Please remember to send a snack with your child on the Hot Lunch Days.  They will still be having a snack time before first recess.

ELA--We have settled into an ELA routine nicely.  Home Reading is due each Monday and all students received a Green Duotang with the entire year of log sheets.  Please send it back to school on Monday morning so that I can check student progress and then I'll send it back home for the rest of the week.  Word Sorts are being completed at school.  The students are expected to take them home to study their words for a Spelling Test on Friday. (If there is no school on Friday the test will be on Monday.)  We have been working on sentence writing and will begin writing stories this week.  We are building our stamina for Read to Self each day and will be reading in groups as well.

Math--Grade 2--are completing Unit 2 on Numbers from 0-100.
Math--Grade 3--have been reviewing Borrowing and Carrying 2-digit Numbers with addition and subtraction.

French--We are continuing to work on conversations using a question and answer technique for:  Greetings, each other's names and how are we doing? We are adding "Quel age a tu?" to our set of questions.

Social Studies--We have reviewed the rights and responsibilities of citizens, protecting our environment, elections and will be completing our unit by talking about Peace.

Science--We begin our first Science Unit this week on Material and Structures.

Religion/Chapel--Our new backpack item for our Journey with Jesus is water.  We have talked about several bible stories that included water and God leading us to heaven.
